Money well spent.

my knives are now sharper than they were when I first purchased them, and they are high-end knives.
There was a short learning curve in sharpening my narrow, bladed pairing knives, but once I figured it out, there was no longer a problem.

Very Simple Knife Sharpener

It does a good job sharpening knives, quickly restored the edge to knives that hadn't been sharpened in nearly 10 years. This sharpener does struggle when trying to sharpen knives with a narrower blade like that on a paring knife or even a pocket knife. For longer knives, trying to figure the best way to sharpen the tip since the knife flexes.

For narrower blades, placing a small wooden block under the handle can help raise the edge above the angle guide and make sharpening easier. For longer knives, especially near the tip, it can help to readjust the knife so the tip is closer to the block, then use shorter, controlled passes with light pressure.

adjustable height

Product is great but i have a couple of specialist knives where the hilt is too large so the spine of the blade wont sit flat on the table. maybe you could come up with an adapter to go on the bottom of the block and something to keep the roller higher

Thanks for the review! Specialist knives can definitely be trickier. Couple of fixes depending on the knife: if it's a tall handle or bolster getting in the way, slide the knife so the handle hangs just off the edge of the table. For something tall like a cleaver, do the opposite and put a cutting board under the roller to raise it up to meet the blade. Hope that helps!
